Introduced at the Paris Auto Show in October 1955, the 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II was considered the "American Rolls Royce". While American luxury cars at that time typically sold in the $4,000 range, the Mark II was priced close to the Rolls at $10,000. Original owners included Frank Sinantra, the Shah of Iran, Elvis Presley and Romy Hammes. Who? My dad owned one of the 1st off the line. The production was in a very limited number. Today's price is pushing $80,000+.
