Lincoln Mercury was formed as a seperate division by Ford Motor Company in 1945. Prior to 1945 Lincoln and Mercury was part of all Ford Dealerships that Romy Aquired prior to 1945. In 1945, in Ford's infinate wisdom, after the many years that Ford dealers helped grow, and even helped the survival of Lincoln and Mercury, is when Ford Motor Company took away Lincoln and Mercury franchises and refused to award the new Lincoln and Mercury franchise to Romy and other Ford Dealers.
So Much for loyality !
Guess what...they now need to combine those divisions to survive.
