Weis, Hesburgh, Malloy and other authors to sign their books Saturday.

Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis is among the authors scheduled to participate Saturday in the Ladies of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College Scholarship Benefit Book Fair.

The fundraiser will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore.

This event raises funds for scholarships for local women to attend Notre Dame or Saint Mary's College. The financial aid offices at the two schools determine student eligibility and the LND/SMC group provides the funding.

The bookstore will donate a percentage of each sale to the scholarship fund. All merchandise purchased, not just books, is applicable to the scholarship fund.

There will be musical entertainment throughout the day.

Weis is scheduled to sign his book "No Excuses" from 9 to 10 a.m. Because of time constraints, Weis will provide only a signature and no other items will be autographed.

Other authors will be:

10 a.m. to noon -- Ralph McInerny will sign "Irish Alibi," the most recent title in the Notre Dame mystery series. Father Dowling mysteries and his autobiography, "I Alone Have Escaped to Tell You" will also be available.
