Bentley Motors revealed the production version of the new Azure at the 2005 IAA Motor Show Frankfurt, 12th September. The luxurious four-seater Azure, which goes on sale in Spring 2006, is the latest in a portfolio of wonderfully desirable 'dropheads' stretching back many decades and reaffirms Bentley's reputation as creator of the world's most elegant convertibles.

First and foremost, unmistakably Bentley. The new Azure shares its face with the current Arnage range and its platform ensures it seats four adults in supreme comfort. But it is also unmistakably unique. The entire cabin and rear section of the car are newly designed, with a stunning bespoke interior; the objective being to create an opulent and inviting seating area that reflects its status as a car that is at home in Palm Springs or the Riviera.

The complex folding roof on the convertible is operated hydraulically at the touch of a switch: the impressive, three-layer fabric assembly being elegantly stowed beneath the hide-trimmed tonneau in under 30 seconds.

The twin-turbocharged V8 engine, double-wishbone suspension and extremely rigid body structure of the Arnage provide a state-of-the-art basis for the new Azure. It is powered by a 450bhp (336Kw) version of the Arnage's 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged intercooled V8 engine and produces 875Nm (645lb ft) of torque.

2008 Bentley Azure Review
The production version of the new 2008 Bentley Azure is revealed by Bentley Motors. This four seater Azure is unmistakably Bentley. The current range ensures that four adults can be seated in great comfort. The cabin and the rear section are designed anew with a stunning interior and there is the seating area which reflects its status as a car. The folding roof is operated by the touch of a switch and there is 3-layer fabric which is elegantly stowed.

The V8 engine is turbo charged with a suspension of double-wishbone, and a body which is extremely rigid. The new Azure is powered by a 450 HP engine and a 6.75 liter intercooler V8 engine which gives out 875 Nm of Torque. There is high technology, carbon fiber cross brace that contribute to the body stiffness and benefits handling, ride and refinement. The bumpers are chrome trimmed and the car is painted in a color with a chrome trim that runs through the whole length of the car thus enhancing the flowing lines in the body of the Azure.

The convertible, Azure is manufactured in England. The finish is completed by the Mulliner department. The current design of the car was inspired by the Azure, 1995 - 2002. The bumpers are the same color as that of the body. The chrome trim runs throughout the length of the car. The new two door Azure is operated hydraulically and it can stow beneath a tonneau cover that is hide-trimmed.

Four people would fit inside the Azure. There is an inviting arena for sitting. This reflects the status of the car. There are impact airbags at the sides. There is an electronic stability system which is installed. There are pop up bolsters in which the windshield has been reinforced.

The Bentley Azure portrays the sculptural sleek glamour of the convertibles that are coach built and this is paired off with the long legged, thrilling performance of a sporting Bentley.

The Bentley Azure is special because of its rear wheel drive, the twin turbo and a bespoke interior. Yet there are some people who feel that through the Bentley Azure stands well above the other cars due to some of its characteristics, but it falls back in the competition over some of its rivals when we consider the interior design and driving dynamics.
